thursday

as you can see my lilacs are progressing quite nicely by my new title photo taken this morning! the yard is springing to life and that makes me very happy! :) the miracle of spring always amazes me, everything turning a fresh green after the dullness of winter and dead leaves everywhere. a few days of warm weather and another few days of rain does wonders for everything living. it's just going to get prettier and prettier with the lilacs and the crab apple trees flowering and making everything smell lovely too, i love this time of year!

home again!

well this has been quite a week! i had planned to prune the apple trees on monday since the weather was supposed to be good and wait til tuesday and wednesday to start my spring cleaning since it was going to rain, but that was all changed!

monday morning i brought dh to the e.r., because he had not felt well all weekend and by monday morning he was worse and very dizzy. it took 3 hours to see a doctor, but when he did they wanted to keep him overnight for observation, because his heart was beating way too slow. long story, short, after many tests and freezing in the e.r. all night, tuesday night at 8:30 pm he went up to surgery to put in a pacemaker. after a day of recuperation in the cardiac care unit, i brought him home this morning, but i told him that if i get sick, don't bring me to that hospital because there was only one nurse who spoke to me in english.

it's good to have him home safe and sound!

i can see clearly now...

just finished cleaning all the windows and blinds. it feels so good to get all the winter grime or whatever off of them and now i'm ready for next week for the thorough room clean where everything including the walls get washed, a hated week! i'm usually dead after that one, but i think i better spread it out a little since i'm not as young as i used to be, but in my head i am, it's just my body that is growing old!

my son-in-law is coming over tomorrow to change my brakes and put my all season tires back on 'little riding hood'. out with friends for dinner and sunday i'm hoping to get some scrapping done.

outside spring cleaning woes!

i just finished raking up all the fir tree needles, leaves and rocks from the front grass! st. hubert has decided to not use salt on the lesser used roads and instead uses gravel. but the gravel is getting bigger and bigger each year, it used to be just gravel, but today i found rocks that were at least 2 inches, grrrr..... i hope i got them all becasue sure as shootin' the lawn mower will find them and shoot them out like a rifle shot!!!

saturday, 4 april - it's good to be home sweet home!

we arrived home yesterday at 4 pm after 3 days drive through the pouring rain all the way from just before jacksonville. it followed us all the way up the coast and we hit fog in the mountains, got slowed down by many construction zones where we went down to one lane and waited an hour at the lacolle border, grrr...! but all in all it was a great trip.
